WhatsApp was leading the mobile messaging market, but it could not become the number one.
Facebook on Thursday acquired WhatsApp for dollar 19 billions.
The deal included 12 billion in Facebook's share, 4 billion dollars in cash and 3 billion dollars in vesting restricted stock units for the
WhatsApp team over the next four years.
It might be slightly disappointing to users like me who switched to
WhatsApp as an alternative to fb chat.
But, WhatsApp will be there in future as independent brand and team but under the ownership of Facebook.
